Our Impact
At JON BLANCO, sustainability isn't a footnote — it's built into every order. We partner with verified environmental organizations to fund two active restoration projects: one beneath the surface of the Pacific, and one on the shores of Southeast Asia.
Kelp Forest Restoration
British Columbia, Canada · via veritree
Kelp forests are among the ocean's most productive ecosystems — towering underwater habitats that shelter thousands of marine species, support coastal fisheries, and serve as a significant carbon sink. Over the past five decades, more than 40 percent of the world's kelp forests have declined due to climate change, overexploitation, and pollution.
Through our partnership with veritree and Coastal Kelp, we support the restoration of kelp forest along the territory of the Sechelt First Nations in Hotham Sound and Powell River, British Columbia. This work protects habitat for herring, salmon, rockfish, and the endangered northern abalone — species that are central to the traditions and livelihoods of Indigenous coastal communities.
Ocean-Bound Plastic Recovery
Philippines & Indonesia
We fund verified collection networks operating in the Philippines and Indonesia, where local community members intercept plastic waste before it reaches the sea. Every purchase contributes to removing ocean-bound plastic at the source — protecting marine ecosystems while supporting the livelihoods of the people doing the work.
